Meet Our Leadership Team

The management team at MIG is led by President and Chief Executive Officer, Recie Medlock III, who has significant success in leading private and Fortune 500 companies. This team has been built based on experience in running large-scale projects, operations, and advisory projects to successfully develop and execute growth strategies.

Daniel Schmidt

Chairman of Board              

 

Mr. Schmidt is the founder and CEO of Petrustech Oil & Gas. He is a leading practitioner in the field of Corporate Strategy, Strategic Alliances and Business Development in both mature and emerging markets. He is a senior member of Cambridge Social Responsibility.

 

Before founding Petrustech Mr. Schmidt was the CEO of ITC Oil & Gas, the Managing Partner of Storti and Schmidt, a Director at Reel Group, a Consultant at Ecosecurities International, an External Strategic Consultant for BMW AG, a Financial Economic Manager for Akzo Nobel, a Senior M&A consultant for KPMG Financial Advisory Services and a Financial Analyst to the British Government.

 

Mr. Schmidt has worked globally in industries and governments across North America, Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America.

 

Mr. Schmidt received his undergraduate degree in jurisprudence (Law) from Oxford University, his BA in Business and management from Leeds University, his LLM in International Law from Oxford Brookes University, his MSc in Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics and Political Science, his Masters in International Economics from Hamburg University, his MBA from Fudan University (China) and his MSt in Social and Economic Planning from Cambridge University.

Recie Medlock

President & Managing Partner

Mr. Medlock has almost 20 years experience within the energy sector, Mr. Medlock has held senior positions in several Oil & Gas companies including, Vice President of Operations at Petrus Oil & Gas. His experience is broad within this space in upstream, midstream, and downstream energy global economics, which results from time spent working with international conglomerates such as Transocean and Univar in senior leadership roles. Mr. Medlock also has international consulting experience from time spent working in US, Canada, UK, Africa, Brazil, Asia, Middle East, & Australia.  

 

Mr. Medlock’s technical experience is in both onshore & offshore drilling rigs and exploration & development projects in different worldwide sectors where he was an executive leader in drilling, engineering management, strategic maintenance planning, asset management & business strategy. Recie has also worked as a Regional General Manger at United Technology Corporation. During his career he has held other roles such as Managing Partner, Operations Manager, Rig Manager, Director of Engineering, and Senior Project Manager.  

 

He has a BS, Business and a MBA, Finance from Drexel University. As an U.S. Army Officer, he completed the Basic & Advance Engineering program at the Army School of Engineering. Mr. Medlock is the current President of MIG Advisors LLC, and a member of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) & American Petroleum Institution (API).  

Nathaniel "Champ" Jenkins
COO
 

Mr. Jenkins is market leader in US Shale Plays and onshore land development sectors. He has many years of experience managing and developing technical competency within the operational levels of the Oil & Gas Industry. Through his leadership he has increased financial and operational value for both onshore and offshore drillers, upstream, and downstream E&P’s.

 

He directed the first major startup Business Unit within private start-up company that blossomed into one of the largest within the Eagle Ford  & Permian basin, creating millions in revenue through business development and operational excellency. He developed a drilling completions/production model, which directly increased his company’s market growth by double within a 2 year. period. His commitment to success has shown in understanding the comprehensive importance of productivity, profitability, and suitability in the shale play.

 

Mr. Jenkins experiences in with the oil field service sector was focused on operations and business alignment transformations. He is an American Welding Society, Certified Welding Inspector, which adds value on understanding operational asset integrity for Oil & Gas Industry Standards.

 

He received his undergraduate from Southern University with Bachelors in Science and  Executive MBA for University of Texas.

Matthew Teague
VP of Sales
 

Mr. Teague has almost 15 years experience acquiring, purchasing and developing oil and natural gas assets. He was the President of M&T Associates Land Resources, in which his focus was on land acquisitions, leasing, and mineral take-offs.

 

He successfully negotiated or performed due diligence deals up to $750M. He has successfully worked in the shale plays with majors such as Devon, Chesapeake, Halcon and PetroMax. 

 

His senior operational and technical experience comes from his time spent as a Land Manager focused on South Texas, East Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.  He has a proven ability to acquire great assets within the  network of oil and gas.

 

Mr. Teague also spent time as a Landman working for XTO Energy focused in Robertson, Limestone, Falls, and Brazos Counties.  He also spent time in the early development prior to the shale boom developing plays in Leon, Limestone, and Freestone Counties  for Chesapeake Energy as a Landman.  Mr. Teague is a certified Right of Way Agent which is valuable in the oil and gas sector for understanding the process of selling and acquiring oil and natural gas assets.

Alex Joshua
VP of Operations
 

Mr. Joshua is a Partner for MIG Advisors, as a leading expert in midstream, upstream, and downstream global markets. He is key in leading the firms energy expert knowledge group and business data to investors seeking the latest trends in the energy sector. 

 

Mr. Joshua knowledge extends into the upstream sector due to his familiarity with energy companies such as drilling contractors, oilfield service companies, inspection companies, offshore vessel supply companies, and FPSOs. He has worked for international drilling contractor Noble Drilling. Also, Mr. Joshua experience in the midstream sector which involves storing and transporting refined petroleum products, from the time he spent working at Kinder Morgan, the largest midstream company in the United States. His overall management of midstream portfolio ranges from natural gas, carbon dioxide pipelines, storage facilities, terminals, power plants and retail natural gas in the US.

 

His technical knowledge includes expertise on petrochemical operational, hazardous waste, and regulator bodies such as OSHA , DOT, & USCG. Mr. Joshua's industry knowledge also crosses into the upstream aspect of the industry. As a senior leader he focuses global projects on providing in depth analysis of the industry, cost analysis, the competition across the different energy sectors and the overall health of the industry in short and long demands.
